Samsung Galaxy S Review Empty
PostSubject: Samsung Galaxy S Review   Samsung Galaxy S Review EmptyTue Oct 04, 2011 8:24 pm

Ask anyone what they consider to be the biggest talking point of the last 5 years in the mobile phone industry and it will be one of two answers, they will either say the iphone or those who are more in the know will say smartphones.
The smartphone has revolutionised the mobile phone industry and it is predicted that they will be pretty much the only phone on the market in as little as five years time. Smartphones are already dominating the market in the United States, according to research by Nielson smartphone sales accounted for 25% of the US mobile phone market in the second quarter of 2010 and are expected to be the majority by the end of 2011.It seems that, over the last couple of years, the race for supremacy in the smart phone market has really kicked off. It is often assumed that the two main competitors in this race are a given, with Apple's iPhone in one corner and Research in Motions offering, the Blackberry in the other corner. With both companies releasing new handsets in the summer months of this year, the iPhone 4 and Blackberry Torch respectively, it is easy to think that the battle between these two giants of the industry would continue uninterrupted but this has not been the case. A new contender has entered the ring in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S. Samsung has always near the top of the phone manufacturers pile but seems to of really raised its game in recent years, it is now seen by many as more successful than finish giant Nokia. At first glance the Galaxy S is an impressive offering from Samsung; an experienced player in the mobile phone World, and has a lot to offer including a powerful version of Android's operating system, good pre installed apps already on the phone when you buy it and a responsive touchscreen with multi-touch support.
The hardware itself is one of the most impressive aspects of the Galaxy S, as one would expect from a major technological player like Samsung. It seems as if the phones developers have left the software side of things in Android's more than capable hands and this has allowed Samsung to get on with what they know best and create some great hardware including 8GB or 16GB of internal memory, plus the ability to add up to 32GB more with a microSD card all placed inside an attractive shell. In terms of the Android software, the operating system developed by the company, it keeps getting better and better, with the Samsung hardware providing the power to run an incredibly easy to use and quick OS. With tens of thousands of applications now available on the Android Market, you could literally fritter your whole life away playing on this phone.
It is easy to consider the Samsung Galaxy as a cheap iPhone rip off but this is not the case. The phone does have its problems, the short battery life not least, but for a relatively cheap price it really does offer a great alternative to the other smart phones on the market.
